A mission to maintain a safer and more secure cyberspace for Americans
In October 2004, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) created Cybersecurity Awareness Month as an effort to protect and help Americans stay safer and have a more secure online environment. What began as minor efforts to encourage online users to run antivirus programs twice a year to protect their equipment and online presence has now lived up to its name by reaching all types of consumers: small and medium-sized businesses, corporations, educational institutions, and more.
NCSA, now in its 17th year, continues to encourage us to do our part in protecting our part of cyberspace. As a leading telecommunications and IT solutions business, we understand that technology is the lifeline of most businesses. Over the years, TC Tech Systems has provided local businesses in Austin with phone and internet networks.
Cybersecurity at Home
Businesses today rely on technology to maintain records, manage payrolls, manage employees, and stay connected to their customers. It’s no surprise that they must also have anti-cyber attack measures in place. But what about work-from-home situations?
Since early March 2020, most businesses have pivoted into work-from-home schedules introducing the need for more a robust digital security plan. Working-from-home environments may become a permanent solution for some industries giving all the more reason to invest in cybersecurity programs and procedures that will protect employees from identity theft, financial fraud, and other privacy losses.
